Core Team

The MCA Namibia Core Team under the guidance of Ms Penny T. Akwenye, the MCA Namibia National Coordinator, now the MCA Namibia Chief Executive Officer, was instrumental in bringing the MCA Namibia Compact to signature.

Up to October 2008, officials seconded from government ministries and local experts made up the MCA Namibia Core Team. Government ministries that have been represented on the MCA Namibia Core Team since its establishment in April 2006 are the Ministries of Agriculture, Water and Forestry; Lands and Resettlement; Gender, Equality and Child Welfare; Works and Transport; and Local and Regional Government, Housing and Rural Development. Namibia-based expert consultants were contracted for the economic analysis, livestock sector development, social and environmental assessments, monitoring and evaluation, the facilitation of the nation-wide consultations and the compilation of the MCA Namibia Program documentation.
