MCA Proposal

The MCA Namibia Program Proposal was produced in a concerted effort. Sector teams made extensive contributions to the final document in an interactive process with the MCA core team members and the Namibian experts.

Against many odds, the MCA Namibia team succeeded in finalizing the full documentation in time for submission before the agreed deadline of 30 September 2006. On 29 September 2006, in the afternoon, Ms. Penny Akwenye, the MCA National Coordinator, pressed the “send” button and the USD515.4 million, 5.2MB MCA Namibia Program arrived in good order at the MCC offices in Washington. The MCA Namibia Program covers investments in four main sectors, all contributing in their own way to the overall objective of alleviating rural poverty through transformational and accelerated economic growth.

The MCA Namibia Program aims:

1. To improve human resources capacity and skills, empowering the Namibian workforce to become more competent (knowledge, skills and attitude).
2. To increase productivity of (on-farm and off-farm) enterprises in rural areas
